Atari - Pong (1972), 4/10

It is hard to have a unique opinion about Pong, as it is such a simple concept with very little to criticize apart from its hardware and and alternative presentations. The game is about as simple as it gets: a ball being sent back and forth between two player-controlled "paddles" or on-screen lines. It was one of the first video games that brought the industry into existence, and the first to become truly successful for good reason. It builds on real-world gaming and does so quality execution. There are countless iterations in existence, but they are all essentially the same, stemming from an idyllic purity that makes the game a worthwhile experience in terms of its enjoyment.
